Another year just went by
With family, kids, school, work, friends,
Hobbies, passions, vacations, emotions, sickness
Relationships, estrangements, faith, and doubt
The constantly evolving, puzzling, fascinating world
That gets worse and better
All together
This year has been a doozy
A real kick in the gut
I hold it all dear without pretense
Joy, love, and fear,
